i love the song "yoshimi battles the pink robots," i danced to it at coachella all by myself from far far away and it was the best feeling ever. it is on the radio right now. ahh :)

something on the gameshownetwork that doesn't suck you say? oh yes, a show lml just found called kenny vs spenny about two canadian guys who just plain like to compete against each other, and will see who is better at pretty much anything. like the episode lml saw to determine the best cook and spenny knew nothing and had to cheat with a hidden earpiece connected to a real chef. he cheated and still lost, and was forced to eat cat food as punishment. hilarious. they are spectacular.

woke up at 2 again. hate that as have 5 hours before work. parents like to have heaterman come estimate the fixing of antartica(my oh so lovely basement room) at 8 am. too bad lml went to sleep at 4:30. heaterman arrives, had to sleep in "the baby room." decorated as such before we owned the house with yellow walls, clouds on the ceiling and stars and moon shapes around the curtain rod. funny how dorm comforter with its stars fits perfectly in there.yesterday was kind of a hell for awhile got drug to the shopping mall to help jenny look for swimming suits. there are few things in the world that lml hates. here are some of the top ones. #3)shopping #2)shopping for swimming suits #1)shopping at the mall. definitely not a typical girl. must be some of chemical imbalance. must blame something for all my abnormalcies. yes but it got better later as rented the first season of sex and the city, which j had never seen and was glorious as always. wandered around downtown and laughed at those "clubbing" and their hooker outfits. sick. hopefully today will not suck, yay work yay.

as i've become too depressed to do anything else and have nothing better to do anyway, here shall be the continuation of the great coachella adventure.

day 3
since he was not mentioned previously, during the first day while we waited in line, there was a boy we liked to call "drunky." drunky liked to jump yelling gibberish with an unintelligible cardboard sign. believe he simply wanted people to give him things..hugs, beer etc. we decided he probably passed out at about 12, before any of the bands even started. the second day however, we were greeted by a spray from a fire engine hose (though we'd been in the sun for 5 full minutes) and no line at all. we got there at about 12 or so. don't remember what we did first, merch i think? eh. oh yea, the ladies sat around under a shady tent for awhile because it was a whopping 105 outside. then we moved to another shade tent where we could hear the section quartet, who seemed to be playing old rock songs. and then lml heard no surprises, and was impressed. but best of all, the played "i believe in a thing called love," instrumental style and it was one of the greatest things she's ever heard. seriously. damn that was good. and of course it's the only one without an mp3 link. gar! then betsers went off to listen to elefant, and we would have too but lml, mdf and heather had to trek over to the main stage so we could see, oh my jihad, muse! wow. they were so amazingly rocking!! what? i saw muse? still don't believe it. they were over in this whole untouchable brit rock place that i could catch glimpses of through the trees but could never get to. they totally kicked time is running out, and oh they played sunburn and they played it well. ahh!!! wish they could have had a whole set because they were like "whoa." haha. i just sounded like an eighth grade girl. and at the end they had their fancy white globe things and one of them popped and then matt had to switch guitars just to finish the end of a solo? anyway, we all danced like crazy (well as much as we could without signing a death wish) so good...mmmuuusssseee*insert forbidden doughnut noise here* feel like there were parts of the weekend where i just blacked out, like afterthat what was then?? i don't know. i think we found betsy again, and went to get merch? do know that saw the cooper temple clause who seemed to have a lot of members, and a lot of cute members at that (sorry for being a girl there for a tad.)they were good, recognized one of their songs but can't think how it goes now. worth checking out though. then left for the main stage for a little belle & sebastian who covorted on stage with a slew of other musicians. sebastian likes dance, and it's adorable. wanted to put him in my pocket, and bring out the dancing for times i am forlorn. the sun was setting and added to the music there was a general "warm fuzzy feeling" on the air. the funny thing about watching b&s is that one cannot stop them self from wriggling. we were far far in the back and could see the entire place wriggling, ever so slightly. felt like was in a glorious movie where nothing could go wrong. after that betsy and heather went to visit mr. dizee rascal.who has no website to his name and mdf and lml sauntered over to bright eyes.and for once, they actually played something we knew. which was a stark contrast to the last show we got. needless to say we were pleased. lover i don't have to love was rocked and lml was glad. thank you to the hooligans in the peanut gallery who were dancing. you looked mahvelous. right about that time the sun really was setting and no pictures could be taken so that was a wee bit sad but oh well. cause next up was BRMC, whom i love. made jessi come watch up close with me and we had an extrordinary time, tho the band did not. during the first song their mics did not work. during the second their guitars didn't. they decided to do most of their show acoustic as they had no choice, and they were incredibly pissed but, really it sounded awesome and put an interesting spin on their songs. poor little dears. they played "whatever happened.." ahh!! and quite a bit off their first album. i loved them. even though the drummer could only tambourine :( two thumbs and two big toes up to BRMC for not being assholes like most bands would have and plodding through their set anyway. thank you. it was appreciated. as an added bonus they through the mic into the crowd when they left the stage. kick ass. and apparently lml was right next to the cooper temple clause guys for most of the set and didn't notice because she was dancing again. gah. did catch one of their eye's once on accident though and thought hmm who is that and where have i seen them and he gave a little smile that said you dance a little funny. afterwards reconvened and lost heather while wandering over to the flaming lips. and there were all these giant green balloons floating around and people in animal costumes dancing on the stage. there were also two dancing suns with shit eating grins like the one in roger rabbit and this strange enormous clear bubble, which supposedly contained the lead singer, but we were quite far away. he said he dreampt of arriving in a bubble and decided it must be done. they only played about 4 songs which was weird, and they played yoshimi which lml enjoys and she danced just because and it was lovely. and she danced danced danced in a big open space where people were laying and sitting at random and she didn't care who saw for it was fun. since they finished early, lml and mdf went to see mogwai but the tent was hot and they aren't really exciting to watch anyway, it's just not that kind of music, so we lay down and listen outside while staring at the stars. the great thing about coachella is at night the whole place lights up;stages, sculptures and these lights point up at the sky and make a giant cone shape over your head. its breathtaking with the right moment. it was nice to feel again for those few minutes. it had been the best weekend i've had in awhile, years even, and i'd finally begun to recognize it. the cure was about to start so we found the rest of our crew again, and had ourselves a listen. okay, hmm. the cure is an amazing band but, that was bad. they weren't mixed right and their songs were all 3 times to slow. robert smith's voice was perfect but it was just lacking...something. so we had to leave. betsy stayed and we ran, literally ran to see ash!!! because we already knew their live show brings the rock. and it certainly did. they played lots off their newest cd and some old stuff. charlotte, i love how you don't ever wear shoes on stage. tim your faces are rocktastic.oh ash you are so good. would like to send a shout out to le tigre whom we love and just had to play at the exact same time and we had to choose and it was gutwrenching. did buy your shirt though, please bring the rock to the color a do. betsy saw them and said they had synchronized dance moves! damnnit! yes so we found our bets and started headin to the car and the cure were still playing (cause they had come on 20 minutes late and didn't say why wtf) and it was all the stuff we knew like love cats, finally! they had been playing new stuff forever. new songs that weren't too intriguing, sorry. so we stopped in front of the booths and lml was dancing, again. does she ever tire of it? no. not unless she gets a side ache. then we sat in the car for 2 hours waiting in line to get out of the lot. but it was worth it. and we sang along on the way home so we wouldn't wreck the car asleep at the wheel.

day 4
we say a'revoir (i don't know french if that's wrong, no blame throwing) to heather and get a ride from her mom to the airport. we have a bit of time and feast on foodcourt, specifically round table pizza, whose box states "the last honest pizza." best slogan ever. gah ha. and there was bright pink, yes we mean bright pink soap in the bathroom which excited mdf so much she squirted a cup or so into the sink for pretty viewing. and then the planes came at about the same time and there were hugs and pictures. love you friends!!

then on the way home had seat 14a and the other window overlooking the wing. listened to music while cramming for a test, but the best part was when they made us turn off our electronic devices. we were coming over the mountains and clouds were in every direction. we were in that layer where you're above some of the clouds but not all of them and it's completely gorgeous. i like to pretend i'm in james and the giant peach and some segulls are flying me to the city in the clouds. and there it was in my head..velouria. and i could hear every beat, chord and cymbal crash. and it was beautiful. "she can really move...on velveteen. my velouria, my velouria, even i adore ya, my velouria.." the plane came down from the clouds, swept across the state as far as i could see, but the light was shining from a crack over the city and the skyscrapers lit up reminding me that the world is still alive in places.

basically coachella was the greatest musical experience of my life and i still cannot believe all of that happened. nuts i tell you. time for sleepy. hope you enjoyed this lengthy account.
